What is a Classroom Innovative Project?

What is a classroom GrantWhen learning is fun, learning is easy. Hillsborough Education Foundation Classroom Innovative Project opportunities encourage educators to create innovative and exciting educational programs for their students. Teachers, principals and school administrators can apply for projects that benefit individual classrooms or their entire school. Innovative Projects fall under several categories: STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math), Literacy, Arts, Social Studies, Agriculture and Technology Equipment. Examples of  some acceptable budget items for classroom projects include:

  • Art supplies: paint, mosaic tile, paper
  • Garden supplies: seeds, plants, soil
  • Literacy resources: books
  • Musical instruments: drums, sheet music
  • Technology Equipment such as electronic readers, laptops, printer, projectors or white boards.

Innovative projects are available from $250 to $2,500. Once the application is submitted, it's reviewed and ranked by 3 community members, staff  or school district personnel. The Foundation makes the final selection by matching the project to applicable donor funds. Upon being awarded, grantees are required to agree to submit an impact report by the end of the school year.

2017-18 Classroom Innovative Project applications will be accepted September 13, 2017 - November 13, 2017.       Approved projects will be funded by January 2018.
