What is a Classroom or School Innovative Project?

What is a classroom GrantWhen learning is fun, learning is easy. Hillsborough Education Foundation Innovative Project opportunities encourage educators to create innovative and exciting educational programs for their students. Teachers, principals, and school administrators can apply for projects that benefit individual classrooms, or their entire school. Innovative Projects fall under many categories such as: STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math), Literacy, Arts, Social Studies, Agriculture, and technology equipment. Examples of successfully implemented classroom grants include

  • Supplies for innovative projects
  • Literacy resources
  • Musical instruments
  • Technology Equipment

The typical project grant ranges from $500-$2,500. Once the application is submitted it is reviewed by a screening committee of community members and professional educators. The Foundation makes the final selection by matching the project to applicable donor funds. Grantees are required to submit results, photos, student thank you letters, and a summary of how the funds were used by the end of the school year.

The grant application period for the 2016-17 Innovative Projects will be open from Oct. 5 to Dec. 5, 2016.
