Presidents As Principals

Would you like to be an Honorary Principal of a Hillsborough County Public School?  Presidents as Principals provides a first-hand opportunity for community and business leaders to walk the halls and tour the classrooms of our Hillsborough County Schools as a “principal for a day”. 

During Presidents as Principals, you will spend the morning experiencing firsthand the triumphs and challenges of educating our children through the eyes of a Hillsborough County school principal. Your morning as Honorary Principal will culminate at a debriefing lunch where you and other business, community and education leaders will have the opportunity to share the morning’s experiences, and discuss opportunities for the future.

Presidents as Principals is designed to strengthen the bond between our community and our schools.  These partnerships enhance local public education by producing graduates who are qualified to work in a global marketplace.

Overview

• Presidents as Principals was first introduced in Hillsborough County in 1996 to help increase awareness of issues that school administrators confront on a daily basis.
• Invited presidents, CEOs, community leaders, and other key executives will act as honorary principals at schools throughout the county and will experience first-hand the wide range of roles maintained by principals in their day-to-day operations. 
• The morning event will be followed by a working luncheon where participants can begin a dialog about the challenges facing Hillsborough County Public Schools and offer unique solutions.

Goals

• To strengthen the bond between our community and our schools.
• To provide area executives the opportunity to learn about our public school system.
• To provide a forum for the principals to utilize the experience and expertise of our community business leaders.
