“It is every man’s obligation to put back into the world at least the equivalent of what he takes out of it.”
Albert Einstein
The Hillsborough Education Foundation has been successful due to the tremendous support of the Foundation’s programs within the community. With the help of many supporters, the Foundation raises funds for programs that cannot be funded with tax dollars. However, each year, we have unfunded classroom grants and scholarship applicants with genuine needs which cannot be fulfilled at the current levels of support.
Your Support is crucial to our success. With additional resources, we can have an even greater impact in Hillsborough County.
“America has had a long and rich tradition of generosity that began with simple acts of neighbor helping neighbor.”
Helen Boosalis

“Knowing I have a 4-year college scholarship waiting for me when I graduate will keep me on track in high school. This is my chance for a future: nobody in my family has ever gone to college.”

Mentor
“It’s not what we give but what we share, for the gift without the giver is bare.”
John Wooden
Mentors encourage students to be successful in school. Having a relationship with a positive adult role model helps students succeed, achieve, and graduate from high school.
As a mentor, you can provide a role model for students who have a scholarship for college, but may not have a family member who has attended college to help them.
When you have decided to make that serious commitment to work with a Take Stock student, you will complete a Mentor Application. After your application has been reviewed and your background check completed, you will then be matched with a student who will benefit from you guidance and the caring relationship formed.

"I come from a family full of teachers, retired and current. Watching how hard they work and how much they give to their students inspired me to get involved and 'give back' to those dedicated people who are educating our children. An unexpected bonus to this effort has been meeting lots of interesting people, continually being amazed at the generosity of our community and watching satisfied teacher shoppers leave with boxes full of much needed materials. It is definitely 'a good thing' and I'm proud to play a small part."

Presidents as Principals
Presidents as Principals was first introduced in Hillsborough County in 1996 to help increase awareness of issues that school administrators confront on a daily basis. One of the key goals of the program is to strengthen the bond between our community and our schools. With this relationship in place, a forum is provided for our principals to utilize the experience and expertise of our community business leaders.
Please submit an interest form to participate in this year’s event.
