Financial Support Summary

“As a high school student, my greatest concern was always on how to support my studies after graduating…I would never have been able to afford a higher education by myself…but my worries are now at ease. I know that I can concentrate on my studies better, rather than having to worry about how to afford them. I will always be thankful to you for being such a big influence in my life, as a push towards my future as a professional.”
$2,000 Cash Scholarship Recipient – Gaither High School, Class of ‘06

By supporting the Hillsborough Education Foundation with a financial gift, public schools in your community will have additional support of programming to further the classroom experience for the students, and assist those who may not otherwise be able to do so with obtaining post secondary degrees and training.

Did you know that the Hillsborough Education Foundation offers many matching gift opportunities which your gift may be eligible for? Your company may also offer a match for your gift. If you’d like to explore this further, contact Melody Marrs at mmarrs@educationfoundation.com or (813) 231-1943.

“Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.”
Margaret Mead

Many companies opt to offer their employees payroll deduction to support the Foundation. This may be done through a variety of vehicles (directly through the company’s payroll or through America’s Charities. If you would like to explore this with your company, please contact Melody Marrs mmarrs@educationfoundation.com at (813) 231-1943.

Planned giving is another option for those who are interested. A retirement fund advisor, tax attorney, or certified financial planner may advise you of the best way to make a planned gift that would benefit you most.

“If no one organized these scholarship opportunities, it would be difficult for students to realize what scholarship donors exist and what [scholarships] are available. Thank you... for not only giving us monetary means to achieve but also the confidence to continue advancing.”
