Matching Funds Help Schools Improve Technology
One of the first Tech Matching grants allowed schools to implement a literacy program which utilized music and singing ("Tune into Reading") to develop reading skills.
Advances in instructional technology quickly cause equipment in public schools to become outdated. With a limited budget for improvements each year, principals have to be extremely selective in spending.
The Hillsborough Education Foundation provides matched funding to help the schools with this challenge. The additional technology allows teachers to get even more creative with teaching techniques.
This unique program is a grant jointly administered by the Foundation and the Hillsborough County Public School District.
