"I'm very thankful to receive a scholarship from Project SUCCESS. Life to me was just living day after day with no long term goal and no future. Not only am I now going to be able to go to college, I will also be able to obtain my associates degree. This has and will open so many doors for me as I pursue my goal of becoming a registered nurse."

Hillsborough County Public Schools established an effective system of four Career Centers (Bowers-Whitley, D.W. Waters, Simmons and South County) specifically designed to assist high school age students who are on the verge of dropping out of school, or have already. Most of the students in these schools will be the first high school graduates in their family. Low family expectations and low economic status are just some of the challenges these students face. Project SUCCESS helps increase graduation rates for students attending Career Centers, assists students with post-secondary training and prepares students to launch successful careers after completing school.
The Career Centers offer individualized academic programming and training towards a specific career field. Some of the programs offered at Career Centers include:
- Automotive Service
- Building Constructions
- Culinary Operations
- Digital Design
- Early Childhood Education
- Fashion Design Services
- First Responder
- Home Technology
- Interior Design Services
- Nursing Assistant
- Web Design
Project SUCCESS has three promises:
- If you have financial needs to assure you graduate ... we've got you covered!
- If upon graduation you want to enter directly into the career you were prepared for and need help with certification costs, state boards, etc. ... we've got you covered!
- If upon graduation you want to continue at a local community college or at a Hillsborough Technical Education Center ... we've got you covered!
