The Hillsborough Education Foundation and Partners Help School District Recruit, Train, and Retain New Teachers
Teacher Interview Days
Hillsborough County Public Schools, with the assistance of the Hillsborough Education Foundation, plans a recruitment fair each year, to help meet the district's increased demand for educators. Principals along with District Administrators participate in screening and interviewing hundreds of candidates during this two-day period.
The School District Office of Teacher Recruitment is responsible for recruiting 1,500 new teachers to our area and our district annually. Our local colleges and universities can only supply a fraction of the demand; consequently we recruit from the entire country.
Attracting teachers to the Tampa Bay area is critical to maintain excellence for all in education. The school district, along with Hillsborough County, is growing at a rapid pace and adding more new students each year.
Many teachers or new graduates relocate to the Tampa area every year. Businesses are invited to support the event by sponsoring a booth at the event.
