The "Hooked on Education" fishing tournament was the brainchild of Jim Inman and Larry Wilder, founders and organizers of this charitable event.  These remarkable men put together a committee and organized this ‘catch and release' tournament to help raise proceeds to benefit the Hillsborough Education Foundation.  They realize the need to support the Foundation's mission to help students, teachers and schools in Hillsborough County achieve academic excellence through our programs.

This year the tournament raised more than $83,600 for the Foundation!  Event activities included a Captain's Dinner for all participants, sponsors and boat captains with an open invitation to the Superintendent of Schools and School Board members to come enjoy the fun. 

With an early morning start, all of the fishermen received a ‘goodie bag' filled with items to help them enjoy their fishing experience, along with a tournament shirt.  Food and refreshments throughout the day were provided by sponsors such as: Caspers Company McDonald's Restaurants.  The tournament concluded with a catered awards ceremony.
