Led by a volunteer Board of Directors made up of business, education and community leaders, the Foundation has raised over $69 million since its inception in 1988.

Hillsborough Education Foundation Job Description Summaries
The President is the senior-most staff position in the Foundation. This person supervises all development, program and administrative activities, and oversees compliance with all local and state regulations. The Foundation President reports directly to the board of directors, collaborates with them in order to set strategic direction, planning raise community funds, and represents the Foundation to the School Board in school-related programs.
Vice President of Finance & Administration
The Vice President of Finance & Administration is a senior management position that reports directly to the Foundation President. This person manages the day-to-day accounting functions as well as management of all administrative functions such as personnel, office management, and information services.
Vice President of Development
The Vice President of Development is a senior management position that reports directly to the Foundation President. This person is responsible for creating and directing the organization's overall development strategy, and has oversight of all fundraising activities, including corporate giving, annual giving, planned giving, foundation and agency grants, and capital campaigns.
Director of Programs
The Director of School Programs is a senior management position which manages all Foundation programs designed to help at-risk students stay in school. In particular, he/she is responsible for all elements of the Teaching Tools for Hillsborough Schools program, the Take Stock in Children mentoring program, the Hillsborough Reads program, as well as the Foundation scholarship and grants programs.
Teaching Tools for Hillsborough Schools Store Manager
The Teaching Tools Store Manager is responsible for leading the overall day-to-day store operations of the Teaching Tools program of the Foundation as well as assisting with volunteer recruitment and coordination and administrative activities of the program.
Teaching Tools for Hillsborough Schools Warehouse Manager
The Warehouse Manager is responsible for overall management of the TTHS warehouse and upkeep of the Store.
Teaching Tools for Hillsborough Schools Development Associate
The Development Associate is responsible for development activities to support the Teaching Tools for Hillsborough Schools (TTHS) program including product donations, grant writing, program events and providing Development support for the program. This position also handles all aspects of the logistics of supply drives and product donations for the TTHS program.
Teaching Tools for Hillsborough Schools Associate Director of Development
The Associate Director of Development- Teaching Tools for Hillsborough Schools program. Is responsible for targeting past, current and potential donors for new and increased monetary gifts, involvement in civic and community groups. Emphasis will be on building up the current donor base through personal visits, mail solicitation, presentations to community/civic organizations, and proposal writing.
Associate Director of Development
This Associate Director of Development is responsible for all annual fundraising activities that support the Foundation, Foundation programs, and school and Foundation events that occur on an annual basis. This person is responsible for cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of current and potential corporate donors related to all annual fundraising and event activities.
Associate Director of Development
This Associate Director of Development is responsible for individual giving fundraising activities, targeting current and potential donors for major gifts and planned gifts, and targeting school district retirees, current employees, civic and community groups. He/she also participates in the Planned Giving committee, one-on-one solicitations of selected donors and prospects for major gifts, and planned and memorial gifts.
The Development Associate is responsible for providing support to the Development Department in the cultivation and stewardship of the Foundation's donors.
The Executive Associate person performs creative functions for all communications, marketing, and development materials for the Foundation, assists the Events & Marketing Coordinator with pre-event logistical details, and provides support to the Development Department.
The Accounts Receivable & Database Administrator is responsible for the proper recording of all incoming funds and maintains the donor records database to ensure its accuracy and usefulness. This position is also responsible for assisting the Director of Finance with Financial Statement preparation.
Accounts Payable & HR Specialist
The Accounts Payable & HR Specialist is responsible for processing all payables and outgoing checks. This position is also responsible for processing the bi-weekly payroll functions and coordinating the benefit plans offered by the Foundation. This position is also responsible for assisting the Director of Finance with Human Resource Functions.
Events and Marketing Coordinator
The Events & Marketing Coordinator is responsible for oversight of all recognition, development, and fund raising events for the Foundation. This person utilizes the resources of the school district and volunteers to assure excellent events for the Foundation.
The Marketing Manager reports to the Vice President of Development and is responsible for development of Foundation marketing materials, communications, branding, and media relations. This person also develops content and copy for the E-newsletter, website, and promotional advertising. The Marketing Manager is responsible for press releases and media coverage, and serves as the media liaison for all Foundation events.
The Programs Associate directly assists and supports the student programs of the Foundation. This person also is the first point of entry for people who visit the Foundation.
The Student Advocate schedules individual or group meetings with students in the Take Stock in Children program to discuss academic and career planning issues. This person also engages assistance from existing programs to help monitor student progress---counselors, social workers, etc.
The Mentor Coordinator is responsible for achieving mentor recruitment, processing, monitoring, and retention objectives in the Take Stock in Children local program. This person also assists in the organization and production of mentor appreciation, recognition, and training activities and events.
AmeriCorps Hillsborough Reads Program Manager
The Hillsborough Reads Program Manager oversees all aspects of program management and serves as the liaison between the program and the Hillsborough County Public Schools, the Hillsborough Education Foundation, Communities In Schools of Hillsborough, and the community. He/She supervises the Hillsborough Reads staff, facilitates staff development opportunities, and conducts staff performance evaluations. The Hillsborough Reads Program Manager also develops relationships with local community agencies and programs to foster collaboration and to increase the local program identity.
